Today I had life drawing class and I used my laptop and wankem tablet instead of a piece of paper and some charcoal. It's my first digital painting ever. I learned a whole bunch and I'm really looking forward to the next class session.

This is a sketch of my inner monologue. Please note that it's not a representation of the lesser half of my conscience (those guys know their place and generally keep their mouths shut; I'm perfectly capable of making my own decisions as to right and wrong). This is just the dickhead who hangs out in my mind and gives me shit for not having a job. And drinking.

Today I made a sketch of a dumb scene kid with a cassette tape.

Attention scene kids: The only reason you think cassette tapes are so goddamn cool is because you're too young to remember how much they sucked. It's kind of like how everything you own has either the tape or an NES controller screen printed on it. Except the NES was actually cool, so I don't quite take so much issue with that. But anyway, to reiterate, cassette tapes were a pain in the ass, and your haircut is stupid.

Today I made a final project for my Animation II class.

Today I handed these walk/run cycles in to my teacher. Now I can work on other stuff until the fall, h00ray.

Today I practiced animation by tracing some examples my teacher gave me.

These aren't orignal works, just practice. "Master Studies," if you prefer. I just traced over some video files frame by frame in Flash. It was fun.

Today Will and Ross and Miles made some recordings of me playing drums.

I know dick about audio production, so I just played drums while they recorded. Then Raph played guitar. Then Will sang. Miles didn't record bass because Miles hasn't given his amp back. When the tracks are done I'll post a link to the MySpace, where they'll inevitably be posted.

Today I made this sketch of myself as a monkey, because for my animation project I have to become an animal at some point in the script. I'm basically a big dumb dancing chimp anyway, so I thought this would be the best way to go.

I'm taking Animation II this summer, and I need to create a cartoon version of myself for the class. It doesn't start until a week or so from now, but I'd like to hit the ground running with this. I like this okay, but I'd like to explore a few more styles before I settle. So most of my posts are going to be similar to this, at leat for this week. Questions?
